Drainage Foreman - Primoris Heavy Civil

Primoris Heavy Civil is continuing to expand our operations and seeking a skilled and experienced Drainage Foreman to join our team in Laredo, Tx.

Drainage Foreman will need to have knowledge of drainage systems, including stormwater management, culverts, catch basins, and drainage piping.

JOB SUMMARY

Supervise employees’ activities at the project site in accordance with schedules, budgets, plans, and pre-establish policies and procedures as directed by the superintendent.

JOB DUTIES 


* Set daily work objectives that meet the goals of the schedule and communicate them to the crew while encouraging the crew’s input in the setting of the goals.


* Assist the superintendent in identifying and resolving quality control problems on job sites.


* Plan and coordinate drainage projects from start to finish, including site preparation, installation, and maintenance of drainage systems.


* Procure materials, equipment, and supplies needed for drainage projects, ensuring that all resources are available and delivered on time.


* Strive to meet company’s EEO/AA goals by assisting management in hiring and identifying qualified minorities/females/veterans for employment, training, and/or promotion.


* Participate in the pre-project or pre-task construction planning sessions to familiarize him/herself with unique characteristics of the schedule and the job budget.


* Organize, schedule and request needed personnel and subcontractors for timely project completion in conjunction with superintendent.


* Establish foreman’s weekly plan; update daily.


* Determine and recommend improvements in methods, schedules, and procedures where practical on the project.


* Has authority to dismiss laborers and operators when necessary and in accordance with established company guidelines.


* Recommend changes in material suppliers and truckers, which must be coordinated the superintendent.


* Assume responsibility for validating lines, grades, and quality of workmanship.


* Train laborers and craftsmen in the basic skills required to perform the tasks with minimum supervision.


* Inspect materials when delivered to ensure they comply with quality standards and specifications.


* Sign and code delivery tickets.


* Ensure material is delivered to the construction site per established agreements and in a timely fashion.


* Meet contract specifications and company quality standards.


* Maintain and encourage job safety.


* Review labor reports weekly.


* Report daily time of crew, equipment, and materials used, as well as quantities of work completed.


* Report any extra work, back charges to subcontractors, or delays caused by owner, utility company, or others.
