R&D Principal Scientist - Product Development Skin Health & Beauty (Formulation/NPD)

This position reports into R&D Manager Product Development Skin Health & Beauty and is based in Bangkok, Thailand.

You will be part of an Asia-wide R&D organization responsible for taking innovations from concept to launch, serving millions of consumers across multiple markets.

What will you do

The R&D Principal Scientist Product Development is responsible for implementing formula recommendations and enable product experiences that drive consumer delight across a range of personal care brands.

You will have the opportunity to showcase your capability across a wide portfolio of well-known brands including Aveeno®, Neutrogena®, OGX®, Clean & Clear®.

Your primary responsibility is to deploy product innovation - combining consumer insights with formulation expertise to assemble products that consumers love.

Delivering high quality, safe, sustainable & efficacious products with exceptional consumer experience - whilst ensuring formulas are ready for scale-up to production.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for adapting formulations to enable the regional product pipelines for key brands such as Aveeno®, Neutrogena®, OGX®, Clean & Clear®.

• Work with the relevant teams to understand the consumer and project needs.

Turn those insights into a learning plan to adapt formulations and/or claims/demo development that meet a specific set of criteria.

• Develop experimental plans to ensure that formulas meet expectations and are robust and ready for scale-up.

• Planning, executing and reporting laboratory trials - managing ingredient and formulation documentation to high standards in Kenvue systems.

• Understanding impact of ingredient & formula design on product performance (e.g.

stability, rheology) and experience (e.g.

sensory) and being able to adapt to meet required criteria.

• Support Root Cause Analysis to address problems that may occur at any stage of the development process, from lab scale, through pilot plant and to production scale.

• Partner with prototype evaluation teams for the technical evaluation of lead formulation options.
