Operator-Plant (Heat Treat) - (Iron Station, NC) - Austin Industrial

Manufacturing Associate (Heat Treat Area)

Assist Heat Treat Operators with loading and unloading of pits and quenching equipment.

Other duties as assigned.


* Follow all safety rules and regulations.


* Responsible for quality and quantity of work produced in assigned production area.


* Follows the directions/instructions of the team leader and/or supervisor.


* Monitors all assigned machines/work area.

• Maintaining a clean and orderly work area.


* Load parts into furnaces/pits.


* Unload parts after prescribed time and assist operator with quenching process.


* Strong attention to detail along with ability to multi-task.


* Proven record of reliable attendance, strong work ethic, and team skills.


* Basic mathematical and mechanical skills are required.


* Must be able to perform work wearing personnel protective equipment.

Including but not limited to the following: rain gear, chemical protective clothing, supplied air and air purifying respirators, safety harness, sand blast hoods, fire resistant coveralls, hard hat, ear plugs and safety glasses.


* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body, able to reach overhead, able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; work at heights; balance for extended periods of time.

Ability to lift 35 pounds or more.

Qualifications Required for this Position:

Education: High School diploma/GED required.

Experience: 2 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment or related education preferred.

Must pass drug screen and background check, as condition of employment.

This is a temporary position lasting 3 to 6 months with the possibility of going permanent.
