Software Engineer

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Execute creative software solutions.

Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems.

Develop secure high-quality production code.

Review and debug code written by others.

Design, and develop business solutions and break down technical problems.

Collaborate with Technical, Business, and Operations partners to deliver high priority items within evolving needs.

Work on evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture.

Support Sarbanes- Oxley (SOX), Audit (internal or external), and Risk Management and Controls to ensure any risks or issues are mitigated.

Create and update technical documentation, including but not limited to design documents, requirements, peer code reviews, and release notes.

Communicate across practice with Software Engineering teams to drive awareness and use of new and leading edge technologies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, J2EE Developer, Computer Programmer, Technology Analyst, or related occupation.

Skills Required: Requires experience in the following: Agile SDLC; Application Architecture Disciplines; Microservices; Apache Kafka; Docker; J2EE; Jenkins; NodeJS; Spring; CSS; HTML; Java; JavaScript; SQL; XML; Angular; Apache Tomcat; REST; WebSphere; Maven; JSON; Kubernetes; DB2; Splunk; GIT; Junit; Manual Testing; Performance Testing; Regression Testing; Smoke Testing; System Integration Testing; Unit Testing; and User Acceptance Testing.

Telecommuting permitted up to 40% of the week.
