Product Manager

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Provide operational support of optical network.

Perform technical design, operational support and lifecycle maintenance of an optical network through evaluating the existing optical network design and implementing changes to enhance performance and bandwidth capabilities.

Undertake operational and support lifecycle maintenance work to include hardware fault correction, as well as software upgrades for optical systems in the network.

Contribute to the technical design of the JP Morgan Chase & Co.

Conduct hardware and software lifecycle of the JPMorgan Chase & Co.

private optical network.

Work with internal customer driven projects related to the JPMorgan Chase & Co.

private optical network.

Work on internal customer requests, create projects for the optical network resources to take ownership and execute.

Participate in the project delivery providing circuit design, hardware acquisition, scheduling change, technical guidance for onsite engineers.

Perform troubleshooting and testing for systems' alarms.

Conduct audit and compliance reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Information Systems, Quality Assurance Manufacturing, Photonics, Optical Systems, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Product Manager, Resident Engineer, Support Engineer, or related occupation.

Skills Required: Requires experience in the following: fiber optic communication systems; Photonics and Broadband networks; Optical network at Layer 1 and Layer 2; Ciena optical products including 6500 and MCP; fiber characteristics; optical modules; optical protocols; system's configuration; DWDM; OTN; wavelength assignment; and optical signal amplification.

Telecommuting permitted up to 40% of the week.
