Application Engineer

This role will be based in the Phoenix, AZ area.

(ideally Goodyear, Mesa or Phoenix)

This position is home-based and requires daily travel to local customer sites within a geographical region.

Occasional travel outside of the Phoenix area required.

Candidate must be able to obtain necessary clearance and/or credentials as required.

The types of credentials could include, but are not limited to, Homeland Security clearance, background and credit checks, etc.

What will you do?


* Interact with customers, contractors, and end-users and work well in a team environment.


* Provide Software installation, upgrade, and start-up services for Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) software including troubleshooting equipment and device communications on the network and providing customer training for the commissioned system.


* Configure and commission Schneider Electric hardware and software.


* Document the as-built system.

What qualifications will make you successful?


* Passion for helping clients use electrical power more efficiently.


* A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering is preferred.

However, a minimum of three years of experience in the field will be considered in place of a degree.


* Excellent communication and client interaction skills.


* Confidence and ability to take a project through completion.


* Experience with electrical power meters (configuration, troubleshooting, and commissioning).


* Knowledge of and ability to interpret electrical and network drawings.


* Experience setting up communications with Electrical Power Monitoring Systems, Systems Integration, and Energy Management Systems.

Qualifications, Desirable:


* Experience working around electrical equipment such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, etc.


* Good understanding of industry-standard communication protocols emphasizing Modbus serial and Modbus TCP.


* IEC 61850 and BACnet experience a plus.


* Knowledgeable in computer networking architectures, topologies, and hardware


* Direct experience with Schneider Electric proprietary software such as Power Monitoring Expert and Power SCADA Operation / Ecostruxure Power Operation.
