Center Director

San Diego’s St.

Paul's PACE program (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly). This innovative program is for individuals 55 years or older, who are living with chronic illness, or disabilities and need coordinated medical care to continue living as independently as possible in their home and community.

The healthcare teams at St.

Paul’s PACE provide a hands-on approach coordinating medical, social, and home care services so individuals no longer need to manage their medical care alone. 

Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Operations Director, oversees and manages the daily operations of the St.

Paul’s PACE program including operations of the Day Center, Clinic, Social Work, Rehabilitation, Recreation, Home Care, Transportation, Dietary and Medical Records.

This includes ensuring that appropriate personnel are trained and perform their functions within the organization.

Duties include assuring that operational services standards and budgetary criteria are met.

Additionally ensures operations are in compliance with all governing regulations.

Collaborates with other St.

Paul’s PACE sites to ensure standard practices across the organization and lead Quality Improvement initiatives.

To ensure continuity of operations, assumes the Operations Director’s responsibilities in her/his absence.

 Qualifications and Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, or a health or human services field, or RN degree/diploma.

Shall be at least 18 years of age.

Experience: A Minimum of five years of health care experience, and three years of management experience, preferably in a geriatric care setting required.

A minimum of one years experience in working with the frail or elderly population.

Shall have either training or related experience in the job assigned.

The Center Director shall be knowledgeable of the physical, mental, and social needs of the elderly and be a professional in one of the following: Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, Recreation, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, Dietetics, or Gerontology.

Skills and Knowledge: 


* Working knowledge of California State and Federal PACE regulations. 


* Working knowledge of San Diego’s healthcare and geriatric services networks. 


* Demonstrates effective leadership and decision-making skills. 


* Demonstrates effective supervisory skills. 


* Ability to foster collaborative working relationships.


* Possesses strong group facilitation skills.


* Working knowledge of physical, mental, and social needs of the frail elderly and their families.


* Working knowledge of health care quality improvement and cost containment systems. 


* Ability to apply creative problem-solving skills to complex issues. 


* Ability to effectively and efficiently plan, prioritize and follow-up on/delegate responsibilities.
