Georgia-Pacific is looking for safety-oriented individuals to join our team of Production Operators at our Tacoma, WA facility.

Compensation:



* Production: $23.73/hour with the opportunity of career advancement and compensation.

Differential pay of $0.51 cents for night shift (6am-6pm)


* Shipping: $23.73/hour with differential pay of $0.51 cents for 2 nd and 3 rd shift

Schedule: two different shifts are worked at this facility depending on what department you are in.


* Production: 12-hour shift with alternating days on and off as follows: 3 on 3 off, 4 on 4 off, 7 on 7 off.

Shifts rotate between days and nights every 2 months.



* 1 st shift: 6am-6pm; weekends and overtime as needed.


* 2 nd shift: 6pm-6am; weekends and overtime as needed.



* Shipping: 8-hour shift, Monday - Friday

As a Production Operator, you will be responsible for using hand tools (i.e., blowers, shovels, brooms) to clean up debris in and around machines to ensure a safe work environment for all employees.

You will also support machine operators and learn to operate production equipment.

This entry-level position offers opportunities to advance as new skills are acquired and openings occur.

Operators work in an industrial environment that is hot, humid, and noisy and work around dust grease, oil and other chemical substances.

This is a non-climate-controlled facility, meaning temperatures can be very high in the summer, and cold in the winter.

What You Will Do:


* Working as a team to exceed safety, production, and quality goals while operating production equipment and machinery in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment.


* Performing quality checks on products.


* Assisting crew members with setups, troubleshooting, asset care duties and other production/operator duties.


* Learning and developing knowledge of different machine centers to relieve and support machine operators as needed.


* Supporting our safe working environment by wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), adhering to all safety, health, and plant rules, policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulations.


* Completing general housekeeping duties to maintain a continuously safe and clean teamwork environment.
