Consulting Associate, Environmental Data Manager/Data Quality Scientist (Entry Level)

ERM is seeking an Environmental Data Manager/Data Quality Scientist in the United States (location flexible-hybrid opportunity).

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and interested in a career involving analytical data management, with a focus on data quality.

As part of our team, you will work on large environmental projects across North America, and support ERM’s projects worldwide.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


* Integrate data from laboratory, field, and historical sources into ERM’s EQuIS™ databases and other systems.


* Work with project teams to plan sampling campaigns and deliverable schedules, provide query/reporting support, and develop reporting dashboards for a wide variety of projects.


* Coordinate with ERM/client contracted laboratories to ensure that project data quality objectives are being met.


* Perform environmental data verification and validation in accordance with national, regional, and/or project specific guidelines.


* Work with ERM’s various Technical Communities to develop innovative data services and automated workflows.


* Interact and maintain successful relationships with clients, ERM employees, and subcontractors.


* Perform and manage multiple tasks within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.

REQUIREMENTS:


* BS/BA degree in chemistry, geology or environmental science related field.

Or the equivalency of 8+ years related experience in lieu of education.


* Knowledge of various analytical methods related to environmental sampling.


* Strong organizational and communication skills.


* Comfortable working at a desk performing computer-based tasks.


* Intermediate to advance knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, and Access.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:


* Recent graduate to 2+ years of previous work experience in environmental data quality with strong analytical/database skills.


* A background in environmental chemistry with prior analytical laboratory experience and/or data validation is preferred.


* Experience with EarthSoft’s EQuIS™ software (and all included modules).


* Experience with sample preparation and analysis and use of various analytical laboratory instruments (GC/MS, GC, ICP, LC, etc.).


* Experience performing environmental data validation and/or data quality reviews in accordance with USEPA National Functional Guidelines (NFGs) and/or other regional data review guidance (TRRP, NYSDEC DUSR, ADEC, etc.).


* Experience with R or other computer language.
