Corporate and Retail Events Specialist

As the Corporate and Retail Events Specialist, you’ll be responsible for the planning and execution of small- to mid-sized internal meetings and events taking place in-person, hybrid and virtually.

You’ll also support larger, more complex meetings and events, helping in various roles.

You’ll oversee logistical elements, including registration management, audio visual support, catering selection, transportation coordination, hotel sourcing, virtual and hybrid event production, budget management and onsite support where applicable.

This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work some days on-site at the Best Buy location listed on this posting and some days virtually from home or other non-Best Buy location.

What you’ll do


* Manage small- to mid-sized events and multi-task across several events seamlessly


* Team collaboration in support of large-scale, complex events as part of a broader planning team


* Seek out new technology, share best practices and grow a large range of skills to maintain versatility


* Develop and maintain strong working relationships with business partners and vendors


* Travel for events and occasionally work nights and weekends

Basic qualifications


* Bachelor’s degree


* 1+ years of progressive experience with meeting/event planning


* Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint


* Must be able to lift weight up to 20 pounds


* Excellent written and verbal communication skills


* Ability to work well independently as well with a larger working team
