Planning And Preparedness Project Coordinator (dept. Of Emergency Management And Regional Security)

Job Summary
The Planning & Preparedness Project Coordinator assists with assigned aspects of emergency preparedness projects from initiation through closeout, ensuring the project is proceeding in accordance with the projected scope, budget, schedule, and is compliant with applicable requirements and regulations.

Coordinates, supports, and promotes projects, activities, and initiatives focused on preparedness actions throughout Cook County communities.

Organizes, attends, and participates in key stakeholder meetings and follows up on important actions and decisions from meetings.

Maintains up-to-date understanding of emergency management best practices to inform emergency preparedness programs, policies, and procedures.

Assists in incident response and
activation periods, as needed.

Actively evaluates the outcomes of community preparedness activities to ensure continual improvement and optimal effectiveness.

Handles administrative tasks for team members and escalates issues as appropriate.

This Position is Grant Funded! Minimum Qualifications


* Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree and Two (2) years of coordinating emergency management programs or projects, or directly related experience is required.


* An equivalent combination of education and/or experience is required.


* Valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance is required.
