Consulting Associate, Engineer/Geologist (Entry Level)

ERM is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Consulting Associate, Engineer/Geologist  to join our growing team in Seattle, Washington Working under the direction of Project Managers and Partners, the successful candidate will primarily work on a remediation project in Seattle and Washington.

Opportunities to work on other interesting site investigation and remediation projects throughout the northwest and other US locations will be available over time.

This will include the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, covering the full spectrum of ERM’s services.

This is a great opportunity to work with ERM's technical experts to implement the latest engineering and remediation technologies, while building the required experience to obtain your professional registration.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


* Conduct field work, including, sampling, drilling, well installation, remedial pilot tests, remediation system operation and maintenance, and construction oversight.


* Assist in groundwater and system performance monitoring.


* Compile and evaluate data and assist in report preparation.


* Prepare environmental compliance plans, permits, and reports for hazardous waste, spill prevention, storm water, wastewater, and site development.


* Assist in maintaining compliance with all federal, state and local regulations.


* Work within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments.


* Communicate with subcontractors, regulatory agents, tenants, and clients during field activities.


* Driving to/from client or project sites is an expectation of the position.

REQUIREMENTS:


* Bachelor of Science in civil, environmental, geotechnical engineering, geology or related degree.


* Strong commitment to safety, including following established health and safety protocols.


* 0+ years of relevant years of experience. 


* Willingness/interest in field assignments.


* Valid driver’s license, a good driving record.


* Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills.


* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


* Detail-oriented with mechanical aptitude and hands-on trouble-shooting/problem-solving skills.


* Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.


* Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

Preferred but not required:


* Preferred 1+ years’ experience of environmental field work.


* EIT and 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification.


* Local candidates.


* Experience recording/writing detailed field notes, technical data and reports.

For the Consulting Associate, Engineer/Geologist position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $60,791 – $67,232 USD.  An employee’s pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance...
