GIS Analyst

ABOUT THE POSITION

Riverside County Information Technology has an opportunity for a GIS Analyst.

The incumbent GIS Analyst will be creating ArcGIS Online applications, publishing maps services, developing web maps, and focused web applications to support departmental lines of business, as well as data maintenance and distribution.

Other duties as required such as customer service and assigning County addresses.

Experience in ArcGIS Online, proficient with MS Office suite, ArcGIS platform, ability to work within ArcGIS Enterprise environment, proficient data manipulation skills are highly desired.

Successful candidates should have experience in processing large data sets in geodatabase format and others related to spatial data .

Programing skills such as Python, JavaScript, Structured query language, VB script, HTML5 and web content management tools are also desirable.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Familiar with spatial data analysis concepts.

• Perform quality control processes on GIS and attribute information.

• Consult with end users, clients, and customers to determine GIS and system information needs.

• Work with customers at all organizational levels in project development; develop project work plans/schedules and monitor project resources including staff time, vendor work, and budget targets.

• Read and interpret technical documentation including data specifications, user requirements, and procedures.

• Create hard copy and digital cartographic products; GIS software, relational and object databases utilizing plotters, printers, digitizers, scanners, and internet applications.

• Provide public information and assistance to a variety of internal and external customers of GIS products and services.

• Maintain and update existing GIS data sets in Enterprise ArcGIS geodatabases; create new GIS datasets.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

OPTION I
Education: None required.

AND

Experience: Four years of sub-professional or professional GIS experience.

(Completion of GIS, automated mapping, land surveying, geography, cartography, or computer science related coursework from an accredited college or university may substitute for up to two years of the required experience on the basis of 30 semester or 45 quarter units equaling one year of experience.)
