Georgia-Pacific is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Optimization Excellence Leader to join our GP-Pineland Texas Lumber Facility .

This role is responsible for leading and managing the quality control and technical aspects of our production process to ensure the highest standards of product quality and operational efficiency, consistent with our Principle Based Management (PBM) philosophy and framework.

The successful candidate will be an integral part of the technical and operations teams that are challenged to manufacture high quality products while eliminating waste.

What You Will Do



* Support value creation efforts by analyzing process performance and developing key metrics to promote process improvement in safety, environmental, production, quality, value, and yield performance and digital transformation.


* Supervise and coordinate production efforts that result in sustained improvement in all associated work processes including Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) Compliance, Reliability, Quality, Production, and Costs


* Maintain Lumber Scanning Systems and Lumber Optimizing System.

Ensure they are dependable, calibrated, and maintained in a safe manner.


* Maintain Quality Control System (SiCam); ensure its maintained & calibrated in a safe manner, Monitored, Targets, & Variations are reported.


* Develop and apply strategies to optimize on-going production in conjunction with the operations, maintenance, and engineering teams throughout the organization.


* Identify gaps and collaborate with key site and divisional personnel to value and prioritize identified opportunities and outline execution strategies accordingly.


* Log Inventory Systems; ensure inventory is performed safely, accurate, and maintain a reliable, consistent, and predictable inventory.


* Oversight of records as they pertain to product quality including: COA's, Calibration Records, Production Records, Process Validations, Department Checks, and others as defined by the QMS Manual and Records and Information Compliance Standards


* Mill Reporting System(MES); Maintain accurate reporting systems from machine center to Mill Reports


* Manage product quality and value to contribute to the overall success of the facility.


* Serve as a liaison between Georgia-Pacific and the 3rd party certification auditors.
