Commercial Bank Strategy Senior Associate

In this role, you are provided with the opportunity to influence the strategic direction of the business by supporting a portfolio of strategic initiatives.

As a Senior Associate on the Commercial Banking Strategy team, you will support mission-critical projects, including but not limited to: assessing growth opportunities strategies - geographic, industry or product, putting together strategic roadmaps by identifying unmet or emerging client needs, refining client segmentation and/or client coverage models, understanding emerging trends or new entrants, assessing operating models, including redesign or automation, and supporting the creation of CEO-level executive communications.

Projects are typically team-based and include close collaboration with the Commercial Banking Operating Committee and senior executives.

Commercial Banking is focused on helping our clients succeed and making a positive difference in our communities.

We provide credit and financing, treasury and payment services, international banking and real estate services to our clients.

Our team comes from top strategy consulting firms, investment banks, and leading undergraduate and graduate programs.

The Head of Strategy is responsible for defining the overall strategic direction of the business, reports directly to the Commercial Banking CEO, and is a member of the Commercial Banking Operating Committee.

Job responsibilities:


* Apply structured problem-solving and design thinking to address top strategic priorities


* Gather, synthesize, analyze and present project data and findings (e.g., financial modeling, valuation)


* Develop innovative solutions to transform the business model and product offering


* Perform competitor/industry research leveraging both public and non-public sources


* Develop strategic presentations for internal and external audiences


* Support multiple project work streams

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:


* 5+ years of experience with a premier strategy consulting firm or an internal strategy consulting / corporate strategy team


* Demonstrated experience with consulting toolkit / broad range of analytical tools and problem-solving approaches


* Demonstrated experience with managing project work streams


* Strong client management and executive-level communication skills


* Track record of demonstrating a high level of personal initiative, setting and achieving challenging goals, and demonstrating entrepreneurial leadership

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:


* Experience in financial services industry


* MBA or an advanced business degree from a top-tier program
