Lead Software Engineer - Java

As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the CORPORATION OVERSIGHT AND GOVERNANCE TECHNOLOGY Team, you lead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your team's work adheres to compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices.
Job responsibilities
* Engages technical teams and business stakeholders to discuss and propose architecture approaches to meet current and future needs.
* Defines the architecture target state of their product and drives achievement of the strategy.
* Executes creative data architecture solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions and break down technical problems.
* Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities.
* Sets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration.
* Anticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements.
* Manages stakeholder relationships and the team's work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements.
* Creates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for the team members and prioritizes diverse representation.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
* Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years development experience in Java / J2EE Web application design and development.
* Experience with Spring MVC and Spring BOOT Framework.
* Development experience using UI Technologies - HTML, VTL, XSL, JavaScript, AJAX, Angular JS, React, Bootstrap.
* In-depth knowledge in Big Data Technologies including - Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, Hbase, Impala, Restful services.
* Experience leading technology projects.
* Experience managing technologists.
* Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods.
* Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
* Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
* In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
* Experience working at code level
* Knowledge of cloud based technologies - AWS, Cloud Foundry, Google Cloud
* Platform are an added advantage
* Prior experience with Regulatory and Compliance applications is desirable
* Debugging, profiling and tuning applications' performance
