Senior Planner

WATER RESOURCES PRACTICE

Michael Baker International's Water Group provides innovative consulting, planning and engineering solutions for the entire spectrum of the water cycle.

We have proven experience in providing a full range of professional services from scientific and technical analysis, concept through design, and construction support services.

Protection and management of water resources starts at the watershed level and follows the movement of water through urban and agricultural areas, streams, lakes and reservoirs, water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, and water/wastewater treatment plants.

DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker International is seeking a Senior Planner to join our team to sit in Houston, San Antonio Round Rock, or Dallas.

The ideal candidate will be driven, intellectually curious, committed to excellence, and demonstrate a desire to make a difference in the communities we serve.

The position will support roadway, traffic and flood risk mitigation engineering and planning teams and project managers, and utilize knowledge and skills to develop and deliver planning studies, reports, and feasibility studies.

RESPONSIBILITIES


* Supporting planning phases of mobility, flood control, water and wastewater infrastructure projects.


* Developing and implementing comprehensive water resource planning initiatives.


* Conducting feasibility studies for the design of water distribution systems and proposing innovative solutions for water resource management.


* Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams of engineers, scientists, and other professionals to ensure project success.


* Preparing and presenting technical reports to stakeholders, including clients, regulatory agencies, and the public.


* Ensuring all projects comply with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in environmental engineering.


* Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.


* Participating in business development activities, including proposal development and client relationship management.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS


* Bachelor's Degree in planning, engineering or related discipline


* Minimum 8 years of work experience in mobility, water and/or flood risk mitigation planning


* Effective communication skills to prepare project reports


* Experience with software programs such as GIS, Microstation


* Ability to work independently as well as in multidisciplinary teams


* Masters or PhD preferred.


* P.E.

or AICP is preferred

COMPENSATION

The approximate compensation range for this position is $103,229 - $149,054.

This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.

Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
