Pharmacy Supervisor - Sterile Products and Perioperative Services

Work Schedule :

This is a full-time, FTE 1.0 position.

Monday - Friday between the hours of 7:00 am - 6:00 pm and two weeks out of every eight weeks working evening shift 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm.

Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

We are seeking a Pharmacy Supervisor to:


* Lead pharmacy technicians and provide daily functions of personnel management.


* Oversee training and competency development for central pharmacy staff.


* Participate in planning, implementing, and assessing operational projects and services.


* Maintain and enhance workflow system technologies and automation.


* Develop and maintain master formulation records for compounded medications across UW Health System.


* Work with other pharmacy department teams to implement process changes (e.g.

medication management, drug policy, purchasing and inventory control).


* Ensure that operational services and practices are in line with established policies, procedures, best practices, and other regulatory requirements (e.g.-TJC, DEA, USP).


* Assist management with medications safety reviews and initiatives to ensure timely and accurate delivery of medications to our patients.


* Assist pharmacy staff as workload requires.

Education :

Minimum - Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree.

Preferred - Residency training: PGY2 in pharmacy speciality area of oversight.
Degree: Master of Science in Pharmacy Administration, Master of Health Care Administration, Master of Business Administration, or other relevant graduate degree.

Work Experience :

Minimum - Three years of relevant work experience, or PGY1 plus one year of relevant work experience, or PGY2.

Preferred - PGY2 in specialty area of oversight plus at least two years of relevant work experience in an academic medical center.

Licenses and Certifications :

Minimum - Licensed as a pharmacist in Wisconsin or eligible (must be licensed by start date).

Preferred - Board certified through the Board of Pharmacy Specialties in specialty are of oversight and/or certification in pharmacy informatics or applicable Epic® applications required to perform job functions.
