The Senior Software Development Engineer position is a key contributor to Verity's industry-leading 340B platform, and responsible for designing, developing and maintaining advanced transactional backend services operating on complex data models.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


* Design and implement reliable, scalable backend solutions to business requirements following established design patterns and developing new approaches as needed


* Collaborate with Product Management in clarifying business and product requirements, and drive technical approaches to satisfying requirements


* Help develop plans and estimates for deliverables


* Communicate progress, issues and risks in a timely manner


* Collaborate with development team members on design, task sharing and problem solving


* Assist in the growth of junior developers


* Prioritize quality and collaborate with the software testing team to ensure prospective functionality is mutually understood


* Collaborate with DevOps team members to define effective system monitoring in computing environments and software deployment requirements


* Actively contribute to improving software development processes (e.g.

sprints, version control, code reviews, unit testing, build/release)


* Lead on software engineering and security best practices


* Be responsible for project success (technical and stakeholder satisfaction)


* Protect the confidentiality of sensitive and/or proprietary company and customer information, including patient health data


* Support and promote the Verity values through positive interactions with both internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis

JOB EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS


* BS or degree in related field or equivalent experience


* A strong foundation in object-oriented design and languages; experience with Golang strongly preferred


* 10+ years of experience building enterprise backends and service-oriented solutions supporting large-scale backend distributed systems and web-based applications


* Track record of designing for high scale and fault tolerance
