Structural Engineer

STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES , a leading firm specializing in forensic engineering for heavy industrial structures, is expanding its presence in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Structural Engineer to join our newly established Baton Rouge engineering team.

As the first engineer in this location, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the local construction team and take the initiative to develop and expand the engineering team over the next several years.

Strong support and collaboration will be provided by our teams based in Houston, Chicago, and Baltimore.

STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES develops engineered solutions that sustain and enhance infrastructure across a broad range of end-user markets.

We serve owners and managers of infrastructure, as well as designers, engineers, and general contractors, across the U.S.

and in select international markets.

Responsibilities:

 

·         Technical Expertise: Apply your expertise in structural engineering to provide comprehensive forensic analysis and evaluation of existing and new heavy industrial structures, including steel and concrete structures.

·         Construction Support: Collaborate closely with the local construction team to offer guidance and technical support throughout the construction process, ensuring compliance with design specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

·         Site Inspections: Conduct thorough site inspections to assess existing structures, identify potential issues, and provide recommendations for remediation and improvement.

·         Forensic Analysis: Conduct detailed investigations, utilizing advanced analytical techniques and tools, to determine the root causes of structural failures, deterioration, or incidents in heavy industrial structures.

·         Technical Reports: Prepare clear, concise, and well-structured technical reports documenting findings, analysis, and recommendations based on the forensic investigations.

·         Team Development: Take the lead in building and growing the engineering team in the region, attracting and hiring skilled professionals as the workload expands.

·         Collaboration: Collaborate with the engineering team in Houston and the corporate office in Baltimore to leverage their expertise and resources for projects, share knowledge, and ensure consistency in standards and procedures.

·         Client Engagement: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders, ensuring excellent communication and customer service throughout the project lifecycle.

 

Requirements:

 

·         Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

Master's degree preferred.

·         Experience: A minimum of 7 years   of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on heavy industrial structures and forensic analysis.
