ROLE OVERVIEW:

We are searching for a Category Manager within Greif’s Global Supply Chain group, to develop selected strategic categories across EMEA, as part of a centralized strategy to coordinate and implement programs that drives consistency and leverages Greif’s buying power and scale.

The role can be based near one of our EMEA locations and, particularly in the first 6-12 months, will need travel to our sites to learn about factories and build an internal network and relationships.

ROLE DETAILS:

Reporting to Greif’s Senior Director of Sourcing, we are looking for someone who is comfortable challenging the status quo, driving change and being able to work with stakeholders to influence outcomes to improve Greif’s sourcing capabilities across the region.

TYPICAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:



* Primary owner of the relationship with strategic suppliers for targeted scope of spend and regional responsibility.


* Negotiates terms and conditions with suppliers during formal sourcing engagements, mid-contract discussions and spot opportunity evaluations.


* Works cross-functionally with key business unit stakeholders to drive and execute sourcing strategies based on business requirements and market conditions.


* Measures and tracks internal performance for responsible spend, including monthly and quarterly presentations of designated key performance indicators (KPIs) and Metrics.


* Supports Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program, assists in evaluating and driving the supplier performance or the qualification process of new suppliers.


* Proactively communicates with suppliers to prevent and resolve quality issues.


* Develops and implements ideas to reduce costs, optimize TCO and performance.

REQUIREMENTS:


* Able to demonstrate significant category management and sourcing experience, through the seven steps principal.


* Experience with the commodity market would be an advantage.


* An expert with Excel to undertake data analysis and data manipulation to generate reports.


* Willingness to learn about our business and grow or develop further.


* Able to demonstrate agility in adapting to business changes.


* Able to influence others as part of experience in change management.
