Clinical On Call Therapist Position Summary:

Under the general supervision of the designated Regional Mobile Crisis Program Supervisor, the Clinical On-Call Therapist will be responsible for the clinical consultation and support of Mobile Crisis responders across the 5-county region (Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, Onondaga & Oswego) on evenings, overnight, weekends and holidays.

While on shift as the Clinical On-Call Therapist, the employee cannot also be on shift as a responder.

The Clinical On-Call Therapist shift is as follows: Saturday 7am-6:59am, Sunday 7am-6:59 am and Monday- Friday 5pm-6:59am the following morning.

Clinical on Call Therapist Job Responsibilities:


* Provide on-call for Mobile Crisis for at least one (1) week, or seven (7) days per month.


* Provide clinical consultation to Mobile Crisis Responders


* Provide emergency medical and behavioral health consultation services. 


* Review safety plans, transportation plans, etc., as appropriate


* Support and debriefs crises with Mobile Crisis responders, as needed. 


* Triage calls when teams are unavailable due to providing crisis intervention services.


* Interpret and implement program policy and procedure related to overall goals of program.


* Authorize solo in-person crisis intervention services.


* Authorize NYS Mental Hygiene Law 9.45 & 9.58 orders, where necessary


* Provide written summaries and updates to program supervisors, utilizing the EMR, Microsoft 365, as required.


* Provide timely updates to appropriate Program Supervisor for follow up.


* Collaborate with program leadership on quality oversight and improvement of clinical on-call process as needed.


* Understand and carry out agency and program policies and procedures and identify and report incidents as required.
