Position Summary

Dawes Rigging and Crane Rental, Inc.-Milwaukee is seeking a motivated individual to work with us as a Yard Supervisor.

This individual would be responsible for oversight of the overall operations, organization, maintenance and housekeeping of the yard and yard equipment.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with comprehensive Benefits package.

Essential Functions


* Supervises subordinate employees by orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job contributions; adhering to policies and procedures.


* Maintains safe, secure, and healthy yard environment by adhering to organization standards and policies, and to legal regulations; alerting others regarding potential concerns.


* Oversee the activities of subordinate employees with the proper handling of inbound and outbound heavy lift equipment and related components.


* Ensure yard inventory is organized in a manner that maximizes efficiency and productivity.


* Coordinate with Dispatch Department to ensure yard activities align with job schedules.


* Monitor and maintain all yard equipment.


* Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience Requirements


* Must be able to work 40 hours a week and overtime as needed


* Strong initiative required; ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision


* Ability to work safely around moving machinery; to work in conditions with marked changes in temperature & humidity


* Ability to safely operate complex construction equipment, including forklifts and tele-handlers


* Able to lift 50 lbs.
