Local Transfer Driver

Essential Duties/Responsibilities


* Pick up raw materials as needed; weigh in raw material when returning to plant.


* Responsible for company vehicle; keeps vehicle in clean condition.


* Conducts all safety checks and inspections of vehicle; operates vehicle under state, federal, local regulations and in accordance with company policy and procedures; observes all company safety rules.


* Attendance at all safety meetings required; may be asked to serve on Safety Committee.


* Responsible for completing all company required paperwork in accordance with company policies (route tickets, driver vehicle inspection reports, accident reports, mileage reports, service forms, etc).


* Maintain and update vehicle condition report daily.


* Maintain DOT log on onboard computer.


* All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications


* Must be at least 21 years of age with clean MVR.


* Current Class A CDL holder, with tanker endorsement.

Preferred Qualifications


* Prior route experience within a customer-oriented environment preferred.


* Knowledge of safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle and general maintenance.


* Works well with others in a team environment.


* Dependable; reliable; ability to work nights and/or weekends as needed.


* Good math and communication skills.

Physical Demands


* Constantly required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.


* Occasionally lift, push, pull, or carry up to 100 lbs.


* Regularly required reach with hands and arms.

Work Environment

Job functions will be carried out in a commercial motor vehicle and plant environment.
