Bootfitter (Full and Part-Time, Seasonal)
SUMMARY Position specializing in fitting alpine ski and snowboard boots, building custom footbeds, and performing boot modifications such as shell punches and liner molding to ensure guests are properly and comfortably fit.
Also responsible for selling outdoor recreational items including outdoor clothing (ski and snowboard), accessories (goggles, bear spray), skis, snowboards, and bikes to the public.
Obtaining payment for goods sold.
Working at the cash register and balancing daily receipts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following.

Providing superior service to all customers - the public and Grand Targhee employees - maintaining a friendly and enthusiastic attitude.
Greeting customers and determining their needs, including assessing foot shape, ability level, and fit requirements for boot sales, adjustments, and modifications.
Conducting professional alpine ski and snowboard boot fittings, evaluating fit, flex, forward lean, and shell size to match boots to each guest's foot and ability.
Building custom footbeds to improve fit, support, and skiing/riding performance.
Perform boot work including shell punches, grinds, buckle adjustments, and liner molding (heat molding) to relieve pressure points and improve overall fit.
Checking in all new merchandise, stocks shelves, and arrange windows and other displays throughout the store.
Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of store inventory, including boot models, flex ratings, liner options, and footbed systems.
Observing scheduled work times.
Conducting physical inventories when needed.
Handling problem customers in a respectful manner.
Cross training to sell in other retail outlets.
Directing customers to the appropriate merchandise, providing them with adequate information (current trends, technical details, fabric characteristics, boot technology, etc.) to make a satisfactory purchase.
Accepting payment efficiently, with courtesy and diplomacy, entering the appropriate form of payment in the cash register, counting change properly, and verifying any credit card transactions.
Balancing the cash register by counting the cash drawer at both the beginning and the end of the work shift following current policies and procedures.
Some job sharing may be required.
RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY: Protect the safety of self, workers, and Grand Targhee Resort guests.
Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.
Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor.
Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Resort's Occupational Safety & Health Compliance Manual and department-specific procedures or manuals.
