Position Summary

The Ready Mix Operations Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating all ready-mix concrete plant and transportation operations.

This position oversees plant production, fleet management, dispatch, quality control, safety performance, sales, maintenance activities, customer service, and employee development.

Essential Functions


* Promote and maintain a strong safety culture aligned with company values and policies.


* Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, OSHA, DOT, MSHA (as applicable), and environmental regulations.


* Direct and manage daily ready-mix operations.


* Ensure efficient scheduling, production, dispatching, and delivery of ready-mix concrete to meet customer requirements.


* Monitor plant performance, production efficiency, fleet utilization, and service metrics.


* Develop and implement operational plans to improve productivity, reduce costs, and maximize asset utilization.


* Build customer relationships.


* Monitor product consistency, plant processes, and quality-related performance indicators.


* Support continuous improvement efforts related to product quality and customer satisfaction.


* Coordinate preventive maintenance programs with maintenance personnel.


* Ensure compliance with vehicle inspection and maintenance requirements.


* Develop and manage operational budgets.


* Monitor and control labor, maintenance, fuel, material, and operating expenses.


* Work closely with customers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to resolve operational issues.


* Recruit, train, mentor, and develop supervisors, dispatchers, plant personnel, and drivers.


* Establish performance expectations and conduct evaluations.


* Foster employee engagement, accountability, teamwork, and professional growth.


* Regular and predictable attendance.

Education


* A degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field preferred is preferred.


* Equivalent combination of education and industry experience will be considered.
