Sr manager localization Buyer

Localization Strategy & Execution


* Develop and execute localization strategies aligned with business and commodity objectives.


* Identify opportunities to localize imported components and reduce total landed cost.


* Lead end-to-end localization projects from feasibility assessment through supplier nomination and production implementation.


* Drive In-Region-for-Region sourcing strategies to improve supply chain responsiveness and resilience.


* Build localization roadmaps for current production and new product programs.

Strategic Sourcing


* Manage sourcing activities across Sheet Metal, Plastic Components, Fabrications, Stampings, Weldments, Machined Parts, Castings, and Fasteners.


* Conduct RFQs, cost analysis, negotiations, and supplier selection activities.


* Lead commercial negotiations to achieve annual productivity and cost reduction targets.


* Establish long-term purchasing agreements with key suppliers.


* Monitor commodity market trends and raw material cost movements.

Supplier Development & Qualification


* Identify and develop capable suppliers to meet quality, cost, delivery, and capacity requirements.


* Conduct supplier capability assessments, technical reviews, and risk evaluations.


* Coordinate supplier audits with Supplier Quality teams.


* Support PPAP, APQP, and industrialization activities for new suppliers.


* Drive supplier performance improvement initiatives.


* Develop should-cost models and benchmark market pricing.


* Deliver measurable annual savings through strategic sourcing initiatives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration


* Work closely with Engineering teams during parts development and design reviews.


* Coordinate with Supply Chain and Manufacturing teams to ensure seamless implementation.


* Partner with Commodity Managers to align regional and global sourcing strategies.

Risk Management


* Evaluate risks associated with suppliers, capacity, logistics, geopolitical factors, and raw material exposure.


* Support business continuity planning and crisis management activities..

Required Qualifications


* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.


* 7-12 years of experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Commodity Management, or Localization.


* Strong sourcing experience in:
+ Sheet Metal & Stamping
+ Plastic Molded
+ Machined
+ Castings/Forgings
+ Fasteners


* Experience in Automotive, Commercial Vehicles, Industrial Equipment, Aerospace, or Manufacturing industries.


* Proven track record of delivering cost savings and localization projects.
