Researcher – Data Center Infrastructure & Technology Impact

Research Analyst

Your mission

The Research Analyst is a key member of the Data Center Research Center (DCRC), Schneider Electric's internal thought leadership and industry knowledge team.

The DCRC develops and publishes independent, high-value content focused on data center physical infrastructure and the impact of technological innovation on its design, operation, and ecosystem.

This role is designed for candidates with strong experience in data center environments (e.g., solution architects, electrical or mechanical engineers) who want to apply their technical expertise beyond project execution.

The Research Analyst explores how innovations, such as AI workloads, new cooling approaches, energy systems, and digital technologies, transform infrastructure architectures and influence the broader data center ecosystem (grid, buildings, IT, and services).

What will you do:

* Analyze Technology & Physical infrastructure Impact

* Investigate how emerging technologies (e.g., AI compute, liquid cooling, distributed energy, digitization) impact:

* Data center power and cooling architectures

* System design, density, and scalability

* Interactions with the grid and energy ecosystem

* Assess technical implications, constraints, and trade-offs of new solutions on infrastructure design and operations.

* Leverage Real-World Engineering Expertise

* Produce High-Value Thought Leadership

* Contribute to and progressively lead creation of

* White papers and technical reports

* Infrastructure design guidance and reference architectures

* Articles and insights on technology adoption and impact

* Ensure technical rigor and clarity through peer reviews and validation with subject matter experts.

What will make you successful:

* Data Center & Infrastructure Expertise

* Strong knowledge of data center physical infrastructure, including:

* Electrical systems (UPS, MV/LV distribution, grid interaction)

* Mechanical systems (air and liquid cooling, heat reuse)

* Architecture principles (resiliency, efficiency, scalability)

* Data center management software and digital twins

* Ability to understand and explain system-level impacts of technology changes.

* Systems Thinking

* Capability to analyze interdependencies between infrastructure, IT loads, and the energy ecosystem.

* Comfort working on cross-domain topics (power, cooling, IT, digital).

* Analytical & Research Skills

* Ability to structure complex technical topics into clear insights and actionable conclusions.

* Strong critical thinking applied to engineering and system design challenges.

* Communication & Translation

* Excellent writing skills with the ability to translate deep technical concepts into clear, accessible content.

* Ability to explain "so what" and "why it matters" to both technical and business audiences.
