About the Opportunity

The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, Research Department has an immediate opening for a Regional Economist, reporting to the Vice President Applied Analysis.

In this role, the successful candidate supports the Bank's survey work and the Bank’s regional and community work in Maryland, DC, and West Virginia through a number of activities that include survey analysis and economic updates to internal and external audiences.

The candidate will lead Bank strategic initiatives related to regional economic and survey-related topics.

The candidate must develop tools and methods to track economic developments in Maryland, DC, and West Virginia, provide briefings to the Bank President and other executives, and maintain contacts in academic and business communities.

The ideal candidate has strong empirical experience.

 Business outreach will include gathering information from contacts to support the regional outreach program.

The candidate will also engage with the media.

The position will be based in Baltimore, MD.

What You Will Do:


* Engage in monetary policy-relevant analysis on regional and national business survey data.
