Inventory Specialist
Be part of our dynamic manufacturing team where you'll drive excellence in production processes! We're looking for an Inventory Specialist who is passionate about operational efficiency and continuous improvement to join our innovative manufacturing environment.
At our local office in Edmonton, Alberta we design and manufacture electrical equipment: Low Voltage Motor Control Centers and Switchboards.
The plant is growing and increasing its capacity to satisfy the customer demand.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute strategies for cycle counts and spot inventory checks to ensure accuracy and efficiency
* Coordinate, assign, and monitor cycle count activities, ensuring timely completion and follow-up
* Oversee inventory operations with external warehouse partners, maintaining alignment and accountability
* Manage and process inventory adjustments, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation
* Prepare and analyze monthly inventory adjustment reports to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
* Investigate inventory discrepancies and conduct root cause analysis (RCA)
* Submit detailed investigation reports and recommendations to leadership
* Collaborate closely with Material Managers to support inventory accuracy and operational flow
* Conduct regular Kanban audits to ensure compliance and effectiveness of replenishment systems
* Manage and resolve logistical non-conformities at receiving, ensuring corrective actions are implemented
* Provide training and guidance to employees on inventory processes and best practices
* Support additional inventory and logistics-related tasks as required
Qualifications & Skills:
* 1-3 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or a related field
* Strong proficiency in computer systems, including advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
* Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams
* Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
* High attention to detail with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
