Intern - Mechanical Engineer

Primary Duties & Responsibilities


* Assist with the modification and improvement of the AWN (Acid Waste Neutralization) system and facility leak detection system.


* Support capital projects and sustaining facility operation alongside the facilities and operations team.


* Collaboration with Equipment and Process Engineer to implement changes and schedule tool down time.


* Assist with engineering documentation, data analysis, and project tracking related to facility systems upgrade.


* Prepare and deliver a final presentation and written report summarizing project work and internship outcomes.


* Assist with reviewing and updating engineering drawings, system documentation, and P&IDs for facility systems.

Education & Experience

* Education Level Required: Bachelor's, Rising Senior (completed 3 years by start)

* Majors: Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering


*


* Relevant coursework or extracurricular experience in chemistry or chemical process is a plus.


* Open to currently enrolled students or those who have graduated within one year of the internship start date.

* Internship Duration: 10 - 14 weeks.

Working Conditions


* This role will be based on-site in Sherman, TX.


* Regular use of a computer and other office equipment is necessary.


* On-site attendance is required.

Physical Requirements


* Sitting for extended periods while working on a computer or in meetings.


* Use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents.


* Occasional lifting of objects or materials up to 20 pounds for administrative tasks.


* Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
