INTERN: Product Engineering, CO2 Lasers
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
* Work closely with the engineers in support of all assigned engineering projects including NPI (New Product Introduction) and CIP (Continuous Improvement Project) activities.
Primary work includes performing detailed lab experiments from hardware setup to the final reporting.

* Prepares technical reports summarizing findings and recommending solutions to technical problems, including a final presentation reviewing work done during the internship

* Assist in the selection and set-up of specialized test equipment.
*
* Maintain a clean, organized lab environment.
*
* Work with calibration department to maintain equipment calibration for assigned work area
Education & Experience
* Education Level Required: H.S.
Diploma and working toward a college degree.
+ Rising Junior (completed 2 years by start) or Senior (completed 3 years by start)
* Education Level Preferred: B.S.
degree, working towards a graduate degree (M.S.
or Ph.D.)
* Majors: Optical Engineering, Physics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related fields
* Relevant coursework or extracurricular experience in lasers/optics is a plus.
* Open to currently enrolled students or those who have graduated within one year of the internship start date.
Skills & Other Requirements
* Basic hands-on lab skills.
Experience with optics and diagnostic equipment such as infrared detectors, oscilloscopes, function generators, and data acquisition systems a plus.
The successful candidate will also demonstrate willingness and self-motivation to pursue and quickly expand knowledge within these fields where experience is lacking.

* Attention to detail and time management.

* Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Proficient with MS Excel and Power Point.
