Position Summary:

This position is supervised by the Director of Nursing, however on a day to day basis, the nursing assistant may be given direction by the RN/LPN on duty.

Medical Assistants are cross-trained to perform administrative and clinical duties which, by design and intent, assists nursing staff accomplish a variety of patient related tasks.

Essential Job Functions:


* Performs administrative duties such as welcoming patients and visitors, answering department phones, assisting with discharge or transfer procedures.


* Responsible for taking patient history and preparing patient for examination.


* Assisting the physician during examinations.


* Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens.


* Transmitting prescription refills as directed by physician.


* Responding to patient call bells timely.


* Administering medications as directed by physician.


* Instructing patients about medications and special diet needs.


* Ensuring all documentation is timely and according to established protocols.


* Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.

Knowledge, Education, & Experience:


* High school diploma or equivalency.



* Certified as a Medical Assistant preferred.


* Previous experienced in substance abuse disorder preferred.

Employment Status: Full time

Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday, 4:30pm-12:30am

Work Location: Manor, TX

Compensation: Pay Range: $18-22 hourly
