Interior Designer

We are a family-owned company serving customers for over 90 years in Washington, Alaska, Montana and North Dakota.

The opportunity available is for a Interior Designer located at our Tukwila, Washington office.

Additional duties include but are not limited to: 

 Primary responsibilities:


* Visit branch locations to analyze design needs and develop recommendations that ensure design specifications are aligned with Dealer and CAT requirements.


* Collaborate with stakeholders (CEO, Exec Team, Branch Managers, vendors, architects, and contractors) and obtain approval.


* May be responsible for creating, sketching initial design sketches, color themes and ideas based on client requirements and space availability.


* Determine costs for different projects.


* Source materials and products for the designs.


* Oversee installation of the final design.


* Attend meetings to understand the design needs and preferences regarding interior styles and colors


* Coordinate with Facilities Manager on hiring contractors and vendors to implement design ideas, such as Carpenters, Painters, Plumbers, Electricians, and other vendors.


* May oversee the buying process of all raw materials and items required to complete the project.


* Arrange site visits, ensure key stakeholders are involved in the project and/or kept informed.


* Ensure project completion within the allocated budget and timeline.

Qualifications:


* Bachelor’s degree in interior design or equivalent with coursework in interior design, such as computer-aided design (CAD) and drawing and 5 years’ experience.

 


* Certification in the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ); or other certifications related to interior design is a plus.

 


* Strong attention to detail; Project management skills and experience is preferred.


* Travel to branch locations – 20%
