Quality Engineering Systems Coordinator

Altec is looking for a Quality Engineering Systems Coordinator to join the Quality team located in St.

Joseph, MO.

In this position, you lead internal and external ISO audits, manage non-conformances, and drive quality improvement initiatives across multiple plants.

You will also collaborate across functions to align policies, implement productivity enhancements, and ensure timely corrective actions while training teams and advancing our Quality Roadmap.

Qualifications


* ABET EAC-certified Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.

OR


* Master of Science in Engineering from a college that offers ABET EAC-certified BS degrees.

OR


* Active PE license in the United States


* Internal candidates - Minimum of two (2) years' Altec full-time experience.
+ Applicable Masters counts as one year of experience.
+ Coop, Intern, Temp experience does not count towards the requirements.


* External candidates - Minimum of two (2) years' experience in an engineering role after meeting the above education requirements.



* Applicable Masters counts as one year of experience.


* Strongly preferred- EIT registration or the ability to obtain it.


* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


* Must be able to work with team members and work with minimal supervision.


* Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time, potentially on short notice, which may include flying.

Responsibilities


* Lead, participate, and support continuous improvement efforts and events in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.


* Drive process and operational improvement through the implementation of the Altec Production System.


* Improve manufacturing efficiency by identifying and eliminating waste, improving quality, and supporting a safe work environment.


* Become an expert in the assembly processes by working directly with the production associates.


* Communicate with supervisors, group leaders, and production associates to support production efforts and resolve issues.


* Initiate and support cost reduction efforts through supply chain management, design for manufacturing, and process improvements.


* Work closely with design and quality engineering, as well as sales to meet customer expectations.


* Knows and applies fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures in the engineering field.
