Accounts Payable Specialist

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team.

This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, expense reports, and payments.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a medium-sized corporate structure, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining efficient financial operations..

Essential Job Functions:


* Process, verify, and reconcile vendor invoices, purchase orders, and payment requests.


* Ensure proper coding of expenses in accordance with company policies and accounting principles.


* Prepare and execute weekly payment runs (checks, ACH, wire transfers).


* Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.


* Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve billing and payment inquiries.


* Assist with month-end closing, including accruals and account reconciliations.


* Maintain organized and accurate records for audits and compliance.


* Support continuous improvement initiatives for accounts payable processes and systems.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:


* Education: Associate degree in accounting or related field preferred.


* Experience: Minimum of 3 years of accounts payable or related accounting experience, preferably in a medium-sized corporate environment.


* Strong knowledge of accounting principles and accounts payable procedures.


* Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.


* Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills.


* Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.


* Experience with process improvement or automation initiatives.


* Ability to handle high-volume invoice processing with accuracy.


* Problem-solving mindset with a focus on vendor and stakeholder relationships.
