Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Responsible for creating and maintaining the Security Manual.
* Prepare security procedures outlining and establishing measures and procedures for handling, storing, safekeeping, and destroying classified records and documents.
* Responsible for granting branch personnel or visitors access to classified material or entry into restricted areas.
* Revises and updates the security program based on the premises and information systems security requirements and industry trends with respect to fraud, burglaries, larcenies, and embezzlement.
* Initiate investigations of suspicious customer/staff activity as appropriate to determine facts pertaining to the situation.
Obtains evidence, and collects information required for prosecution.
* Develop and implement training for Branch Security Officers and all employee in coordination with each branch/department.
* Conduct training at least semi-annually, and train staff on loss-prevention procedures involving such potential incidents as fraud, robbery, hostage taking, kidnapping, and other security related situations.
* Prepare an annual Security Officer report for the Board of Directors, summarizing the year’s losses, recoveries, types of criminal activity experienced and other security incidents and risk exposures.
* Provide reports to the Executive Leadership Team and to the Board of Directors as requested.
* Work with department managers to ensure employees, customers, facilities, assets, records, and proprietary information are protected.
* Oversee testing at branch locations for appropriate intrusion devices, alarms, and cameras.
* Conduct surveys of all offices, branches, and departments to review and determine the need for additional security services and make appropriate recommendations.
* Work and maintain communication with law enforcement and fraud notification services to mitigate bank fraud losses.
