Staff Analyst

Salary Range: $6,806.73 - $9,820.80 Monthly

SUMMARY

The Department of Health Services (DHS), Plan Partnership and Payer Strategies Team is seeking a qualified candidate for a Staff Analyst position.

This position is accountable for overseeing our health plan contract(s) and managing the relationship with the health plan on behalf of DHS. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

This position will be responsible for an array of assignments.  Assignments are inclusive, but not limited to the following:


* Serve as central point of contact for contracted health plan operational leaders.

This includes providing timely responses to health plan information requests and proactively engaging health plan business leaders for assistance to trouble shoot and solve inter-organizational business interface issues. 


* Manage the intake, review and analysis of incoming communications and notifications requesting action to adhere to program requirements, quality performance oversight monitoring reports, or operational protocols for delivery of services to health plan enrolled members.


* Provide mid-level and senior management leaders with an accurate interpretation of Medi-Cal Managed Care contract requirements and a deep understanding of contract service level expectations of DHS delivery system.

In addition to providing guidance on how to effectively meet the contractual requirements that pertain to respective business and operational areas of responsibility.


* Research and analyzes protocols, best practices, policy issues, pending legislation, regulations, and makes recommendations to management regarding impact on services.


* Perform agenda setting and meeting facilitation responsibilities to lead business operations meetings, designed to ensure and improve coordination of services.


* Performs special assignments and projects, as directed.
