Collections Specialist

Lynden Incorporated is seeking a Collections Specialist to work as part of our SeaTac based team.

You will call and email corporate customers with overdue accounts, provide requested invoices and statements, and deliver prompt support in resolving issues, disputes, and account reconciliations.

 What you will be doing:
• Ensure timely collection of receivables through established communication standards.
• Assist in coordinating the monthly dunning letter program.
• Research credit balances and request refunds.
• Negotiate payment arrangements when necessary.
• Utilize web-based billing and payment portals for account reconciliation.
• Document all collection activity into appropriate systems to established standards.
• Manage and organize multiple deadlines, phone calls, emails, and paper correspondence.
• Work independently and take ownership of small tasks.
• Collaborate effectively with team, management, other departments, and the operating companies.
• Communicate effectively, both verbal and written, with customers, team, and management.
• Assist the credit department with periodic review of existing customers’ credit limit.

What we need from you (minimum requirements):
• Minimum of two years’ collection experience required.
• Must be familiar with all current credit and collections laws.
• You must be comfortable picking up the phone to make a call and have the mindset to know when to escalate an account.

Preference if you also have:
• Experience with financial systems, like Workday and customer payment portals, are a plus.

• This is a hybrid position with Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday onsite, Monday and Friday from home upon completion of training.
