Job Description:

An Inside Sales Representative for State and Local Government (SLG) serves as a liaison between Aruba/HPE and public sector clients such as municipalities, counties, higher education, and state agencies.

Responsibilities:

1.

Client Engagement & Relationship Management


* Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers in government entities.


* Understand the unique needs, constraints, and regulations of SLG clients.


* Serve as the primary point of contact for technology-related discussions and planning.

2.

Solution Advocacy & Consultation


* Translate public sector challenges into tailored technology solutions (e.g., network modernization, public Wi-Fi, smart infrastructure).


* Advocate for platforms like Aruba Central, showing how they align with public sector goals like digital transformation, cost efficiency, and citizen services.

3.

Sales & Business Development


* Identify new opportunities within state and local governments.


* Develop and present proposals, RFP responses, and strategic plans.


* Navigate public procurement processes and contracts.

4.

Cross-Functional Coordination


* Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., sales engineers, product managers, legal) to align solutions with client requirements.


* Ensure timely delivery of proposals, quotes, and support.

5.

Industry Expertise & Advocacy


* Stay informed on public sector policies, funding sources (e.g., federal grants, infrastructure bills), and regulatory changes.


* Represent the company at government-focused conferences, forums, and procurement events.

Education and Experience Required:


* Four year university/Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.


* Typically 4+ years of selling or account management experienced; preferable in IT industry.


* Proven track record in sales.

Demonstrated ability to move leads through entire sales process independently.
