Security Engineer

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Design, code, and test software application and system infrastructure.

Build resilient systems with respect to code, infrastructure, and high availability.

Conduct code scans and mitigate system vulnerabilities.

Review code submissions by team, and ensure compliance with coding standards.

Conduct coverage analysis.

Compare and contrast the implementation on cloud vs on premise solutions.

Research the operational in the platform, including feasibility, cost effectiveness, time to production, resources required and maintainability.

Implement system design and infrastructure design.

Ensure system and application performance is meeting set SLA standards.

Mentor, educate, and lead junior team members with respect to all aspects of software and infrastructure design and development.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Security Engineer, Software Engineer, Systems Analysis, IT Consultant, or related occupation.

The employer will alternatively accept a Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Security Engineer, Software Engineer, Systems Analysis, IT Consultant, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires five (5) years of experience with the following: Java/J2EE including multithreading, concurrency, performance tuning and design patterns; Designing and developing web applications, including custom controllers, view resolvers, and integrating with related frameworks; Creating responsive and adaptive web designs, CSS animations, and using SCSS for modular styles; JavaScript; Asynchronous programming, including Promises, async and await; jQuery for legacy support or integration; Hibernate and JPA for ORM scenarios, including custom mapping, performance tuning, and transaction management; OracleDB, including SQL queries, PL/SQL, and database optimization techniques; Designing, developing, and deploying Microservices, including service orchestration, API gateways, and inter-service communication patterns; Designing and implementing scalable RESTful APIs, including API versioning, documentation (including Swagger and OpenAPI), and security; Writing unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito, including creating custom test cases and mocking scenarios; Maven for project build automation, dependency management, and multi-module projects; and GIT for version control, including branching strategies, pull requests, and conflict resolution.
