Mechanical Project Engineer

Georgia Pacific Consumer Products Division is seeking qualified professionals for a Mechanical Project Engineer to join our Green Bay Operations team.

Your role will focus on implementing Paper/Pulp projects throughout the entire mill and equipment/system upgrade projects in the Paper, Utilities, and Fiber areas.

Project implementation begins at the idea/concept phase and continues with design, installation, commissioning, and optimization for a wide variety of projects.

You will also have opportunities to solve complex problems to support our customers in operations.

Our Team

The Green Bay Operations Engineering team is dedicated to the success of all projects.

We also support the mill to drive excellence in our operational performance.

There are four main engineering groups (electrical, mechanical, process, and reliability) that are in the same office area which promotes team collaboration between all groups.

We have a team-based project approach that allows our teams to take on a wide variety of complex projects.

We are located in Green Bay Wisconsin at the Broadway facility.

What You Will Do

• Develop and manage projects in paper, pulp, and utilities.

• Provide direct plant support in troubleshooting, asset strategies, and project execution.

• Mentor and support plant asset owners with operating procedures and best practices.

• Lead projects to restore, maintain, and enhance operations.

• Apply strategies for optimizing equipment using automation and innovative technologies.

• Must be willing to work in industrial environments, including noisy, hot, dusty, and non-air-conditioned or unheated areas.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering

• Three or more years of engineering experience in pulp, paper, and/or utilities

• Proven project management skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including:

o Excel: Data sorting, table creation, and graphing

o Outlook: Task scheduling, calendar management, and professional correspondence

o Word: Document creation and editing

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience in project engineering within a manufacturing or industrial environment

• Proven ability to lead improvement teams

• Strong skills in data mining and analysis

• Direct supervisory experience or management of contractor crews
