ROLE OVERVIEW:

Greif Inc., a leading supplier of industrial packaging products and services with a global footprint across more than thirty countries and 240-plus locations, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as the IT Asset Specialist reporting to the Procurement and Disaster Recovery departments.

As an IT Asset Specialist, you will be responsible for understanding business processes and related IT requirements, as well as business process analysis and management.

You will drive the definition, optimization, improvement, and change approval of new and existing business processes and IT solutions via the development of business and functional requirements.

Develop and configure the Asset Management tools to map Business processes and watch over compliance, development, and delivery of documentation and training material.

Key Responsibilities:


* Process Understanding and Analysis


* Build and manage the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) in Ivanti ITSM with Virima


* Maintain documentation to support IT asset management activities.

Follow all policies and procedures for tracking IT equipment and software.


* Maintain asset records within our IT asset management database.


* Assess compliance and develop reporting with established IT asset policies and procedures.


* Conduct periodic audits to evaluate the accuracy of IT asset data.

Investigate and recommend corrective measures to resolve data accuracy issues.


* Provide training on asset management procedures and tools.


* Commissioning and operating the IT asset management system.


* Predicting and minimizing risks associated with IT assets.


* Developing and maintaining plans and policies to manage IT assets.


* Asset lifecycle management: Ensuring assets are used efficiently and effectively, and making decisions about when to replace, upgrade, or retire them 


* Tracking asset usage: Understanding how users are using IT assets, and whether they are underutilized or overutilized 


* Security and compliance: Maintaining security and compliance, especially when disposing of assets that may contain sensitive data 


* Tracking asset health and status: Keeping track of assets' health and status, and taking care of issues with devices or software
