Patient Care Tech I

Assists with surgical case equipment and room set-ups utilizing the surgeon's preference cards.

Transfer and positioning of patients to/from the surgical suite and assisting with specific positioning for surgical procedures under the collaborative direction of the Surgeon, Anesthesiologist, and Circulating RN.

Assisting in rooms by opening cases and pulling and organizing case carts.

Surgical suite turn-over includes removal of trash and contaminated items, wipe down of equipment, and mopping and wiping down of all areas in the surgical suite to prepare for subsequent procedures.

Responsible for maintaining linen, surgical attire, and stocking of items needed .

JOB PURPOSE

Renders direct and indirect patient care under direction of appropriate licensed personnel.

Facilitates care to meet patient's daily living activity needs by providing clerical, physical, emotional support.

Provides personal self care and activity programs.

QUALIFICATIONS

All job qualifications listed indicate the minimum level necessary to perform this job proficiently.

LEVEL OF EDUCATION

Minimum: High school grad or equivalent

Preferred: Training as a nursing assistant

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Minimum: CPR/BLS within 6 months of hire

Preferred: For GVCH departments: Current CNA certificate preferred.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Minimum: Ability to use computer charting (electronic medical record)

YEARS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE

Preferred: 0 to 2 years experience in an acute care setting
