CONTROLS ENGINEER TECHNICIAN
As a Controls Engineer Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and enhancement of electrical control systems, PLCs, and automation processes within our foundry operations.
You will play a key role in ensuring system reliability, safety, and efficiency while working closely with engineering and production teams.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and instrumentation.
* Program, modify, and optimize PLC logic to enhance system performance.
* Perform diagnostics on electrical and control systems to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
* Assist in the installation and commissioning of new automation equipment.
* Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.
* Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to drive process improvements.
* Document system changes, troubleshooting steps, and preventive maintenance procedures.
* Support operational teams by providing technical guidance and training on automation systems.
Qualifications:
* Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial controls, PLC programming, and automation.
* Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar PLC platforms.
* Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic control systems.
* Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control diagrams.
* Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, etc.).
* Experience with HMI/SCADA systems is a plus.
* Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance.
