Job Description
The School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken is seeking a highly-motivated and energetic candidate to fill the position of Academic Advisor.
Job Summary
The School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (HASS) at Stevens seeks a team-oriented early career professional to serve as Academic Advisor to students majoring in HASS programs.
The Academic Advisor position will support the HASS student success mission, providing academic advising and other student-facing services for undergraduate students in a fast-paced, collaborative environment that encourages both excellence and growth.
This position will also provide support and assistance for recruiting, alumni relations initiatives, and other related academic administrative matters.
Please note that at different points in the admission cycle this role may require night and weekend work.
Work Mode: Hybrid.
Employees hired for this position have regularly scheduled, consistent percentage of time on campus, and also work some of the time remotely.
Education:
A bachelor’s degree is required, and prior experience in student advising is preferred.
Experience and Skills:
The successful candidate will possess superb writing and communication skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with WorkDay Student (or similar platforms) is a plus.
Candidates must be comfortable working with both students and families and display a sensitivity to special needs and requests.
Familiarity with the types of programs offered by the School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences and comfort working in a technology-based environment also desired.
