Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager

As Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager, the person will be accountable for the development, implementation, and management of Schneider Electric's North America Health, Safety & Environment programs at our Fairfield, Ohio factory location.

The person will ensure the safety of Schneider Electric office & manufacturing employees.

The Safety Manager will assure legal compliance with country, state, local, safety and environmental regulations.

The person will assess and minimize the risk of injury to Schneider Electric employees and liabilities arising out of accidents or environmental exposures in or associated with the workplace and at customer sites in which Schneider Electric operates.

The Safety Manager duties will include the following critical functions to promote safety as a value that must never be compromised and ensure safety and environment improvements are advocated for.

These duties include but not limited to;

Drive Compliance with Standards, Regulations & Safety Improvement Plans -The Safety Manager will utilize knowledge of related Federal, State, Provincial, Local and Schneider Electric standards to drive compliance with Schneider Electric programs, procedures, and health, safety, and environmental documentation needed.

The Safety Manager will perform program & policy audits regularly to ensure new regulations are reflected into pre-existing programs or generated.

The person will use their experience with local country Health and Safety Regulations and Interpretations as it relates to this location.

Incident Investigation & Corrective Action Planning - Investigate incidents, perform root cause analyses, and recommend changes in procedures, practices, and methods to prevent recurrence.

The Safety Manager will effectively communicate investigation findings to the Plant Manager and Safety Director through the creation of corrective action plans, change in product designs, and procedure updates from incidents are communicated to affected employees.

The Safety Manager will utilize their knowledge of root cause analysis (RCA) & Fault Tree Analysis to evaluate design issues, electrical modular configuration challenges and method of procedures (MOP) to improve processes.

They will also contribute and implement HSE loss control and environmental protection plans to cover short-range operating periods between one to five years.

Excellent Leadership & Communication Skills - Adopt Human Factors related expertise to lead safety presentations, training, and customer engagements.

Develop relationships across teams and functions: work effortlessly with all levels of the organization and leads manufacturing and office employees on all related health, safety, and environmental matters.

Lead safety team to meet Schneider electric safety, environmental and health goals.

Team can include safety engineers, interns and contractors as well as hourly safety committee members.
