Quality Assurance Technician

Your Job

Georgia-Pacific is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Technician at our facility in Hattiesburg, MS.

This position performs tests and inspections on raw and finished paper products to determine if the product conforms to specifications.

Decision-making regarding the results is also part of the everyday routine as well as effective communication with team members at all levels of the organization.

This position typically works a day shift, and the starting pay is $17.00 per hour or more depending on skills and experience .

What You Will Do


* Collect product samples for quality tests at specified stages in the production process and perform tests for a variety of characteristics such as basis weight, caliper, print color, dimensions, count and others


* Operate the quality testing equipment needed to perform the job


* Comply with all facility safety, environmental and quality policies


* Maintain and calibrate lab instruments


* Perform internal audits to verify product, packaging and raw material adherence to specifications


* Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area


* Maintain accurate documentation of all quality tests performed



* All other duties as assigned

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)


* High school diploma or GED


* Organizational skills


* Attention to detail

What Will Put You Ahead


* Prior experience in a quality assurance role


* Experience in a laboratory/product testing role


* Strong computer and data entry skills
