Job Developer
The Job Developer provides an array of employment supports to people with disabilities seeking competitive integrated employment, which is based on the Customized Employment model.
The Job Developer networks to build relationships with local business entities to support job seekers in securing employment.
The Job Developer will work closely with the job seeker, the Employment Coordinator, and the entire team to ensure that job matches are based on the discovery process.
Person Centered Approach
* Support people to identify and live out their goals and dreams
* Foster the informed decision-making process, through education, experience, and exposure and provide active supports
* Support people by using the information gathered from the Personal Outcome Measures (POMS) survey throughout the employment process
* Encourage people to advocate for themselves and participate in self advocacy groups when desired
* Support people to have healthy relationships with others (friends, family, support staff, non-paid natural supports, community members)
Compliance
* Ensure understanding of individuals PCP/ISP and implement as outlined
* Remain up to date with all changes to an individual’s PCP/ISP, while in job development - Demonstrate and maintain compliance with all applicable regulations for required program/state.
* Follow all incident reporting based on state requirements in a timely manner to supervisor with descriptive and detailed documentation.
* Ensure all mandatory trainings are completed in the required timeframe
* Accurate completion of daily service notes, daily attendance, billing, and other required documentation
Team Member Responsibilities
* Teach/role model life skills
* Participate in self-development activities or training
* Be alert and orientated during scheduled shifts ensuring that all responsibilities are met
* Flexibility with scheduled worked hours
Job Developer Responsibilities
* Actively participate in the Exploration and Discovery Process for people on their caseload
* Ensure job seekers skills, abilities and interests match the needs of the available job
* Safely transport people using a company vehicle or a reliable personal vehicle if required
* Provide accurate and detailed information that pertains to the individuals' goals for the supports provided
* Identify and appropriately implement Penn-Mar trained ideologies and practices for crisis de-escalation -
* Maintain professional relationships with the families of those supported
* Research local business to understand available career opportunities within the community - Identify each employer’s needs through informational interviews to determine if a mutually beneficial relationship exists
