About the Opportunity

The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, Research Department has an immediate opening for a Regional Economist, reporting to the Vice President Regional & Community Analysis.

In this role, the successful candidate supports the Bank's regional and community in Maryland and West Virginia through a number of activities that include economic updates and topical presentations to internal and external audiences, The candidate will lead Bank strategic initiatives related to economic and community development topics in rural areas, such as workforce development, community development finance, and issues unique to rural areas or small towns.

The candidate must monitor and analyze economic conditions in Maryland and West Virginia, develop tools and methods to track economic developments, provide briefings to the Bank President and other executives, and maintain contacts in academic and business communities.

Business outreach will include gathering information from contacts to support the regional outreach program.

The candidate will also engage with the media.

The position will be based in Baltimore, MD or work remotely from West Virginia.

Travel requirements will depend on location.

What You Will Do:


* Support the Bank's regional outreach by giving presentations to internal and external audiences on economic conditions and policy topics particularly centered on West Virginia or rural areas.


* Monitor and analyze regional economic and community conditions, particularly in West Virginia.

Develop tools and methods to identify and track changes in economic and community conditions.


* Contribute economic analysis and commentary content to Bank's website.
